The solution is as simple as designing the game around what is fun, and putting enough rewards to allow character progression. This is how serving the rewards crowd corrupts the game over time - sacrificing what players find fun to design around rewards. It already existed, and is no longer supported. Those that tell you it would take a long time to implement ignore the reality that devs spent design effort to take it out. For me, that was tactical stealth play, and it is no longer supported. Sure you like and enjoy character progression, but at the end of the day it is about what is fun. I appreciate those of you still finding fun without work or entitlement, and I wish more dev effort was spent on your interests. SSG, I really love your game, but I hate your design choices. You hear the words 'work' and 'deserve' instead of the words 'fun'.ДЄ game that became about entitlement and being better than others, instead of about having fun. SSG is just serving the lowest hanging fruit, which is adding power for those that really only care about power and entitlement. Improving the game requires continual effort and it requires design goals. This is the default difficulty setting for all bar those just off the korthos boat by 2021 and deserves to be analysed, not accepted as is and doubling down on all of its failings.You are on point, however SSG has not been interested in improving gameplay, and the crowd the game is being designed around will sacrifice any and all quality of play for rewards. Rather than simply ask where the power progression will come from, maybe it would be more constructive rethinking all aspects of reaper is it possible to improve the gameplay? its structure? the mobs? how certain abilities/builds/classes work within it? (I still can't understand how a healer-spec cleric in reaper is actually the least likely to be able to enjoy its build's strengths!) caveat : I have nothing against those that want continuous progression and I do think it's necessary (but does it have to be vertical?!), nor the OP who is just asking what their plans are in this arena, but I do think the former, if applied universally, is detrimental to the many.untill the day there are only Timmy's left in which case there will finally be a happy consensus!

I doubt those that refute (the current implementation of) reaper mode even post lfm's anymore they've left or gone solo. Despite the lfm now being 80+% Reaper (the rest elite for favour/saga/loot), I very occasionaly see some hard, even the odd normal lfm - clearly new players - and I feel for them, I really do. I sound negative but I do believe in general they're doing a reasonable job but on this count they have imo completely dropped the ball. The resulting, excessivly wide, player distribution is basically turning this into a solo game or, at best, a game for our private groupings and everything done by SSG caters to compounding this effect again, let's see how this factors into the lvl cap increase.

So if you're in the 'right' group you're fine, if not you can at most try and create your own niche within the game's framework since the 'right' groups will see you as a speck in their rearview mirrors. We as players on the other hand, are mostly slaves to our current DDO-ecosystem. By their actions, they have already clearly chosen the first. They have two options : 1) pick a type of player and cater to them or 2) find a compromise. And now this whole thread has become about 'moar reaper bonuses!' With these premises, let's see how they handle the lvl cap raise. Have there been any positive tweaks in this area? Oh, yes, prefering bta over btc to favour alts ( sic!). Why are EPL stances (still) valid in heroic? *How long did it take to cap the reaper hp bonuses in heroic? Item stat inflation (why did they jump from +11stat to +17stat?!!!!?) But after we've implemented LegendaryTR's, etc. 'nerf reaper bonuses' - gonna pi** some ppl off so not unless its broke.* 'cosmetics for all' - mixed bag but been offered and ignored before. So, dear audiance (SSG), what have you derived from this thread and what options are available?
